Desiree Bryant

Desiree is the youngest of three girls born and raised in Akron, Ohio, to Ralph & Sarah Wimbish.   She is a 16-year product of Adventist Christian Education, and a second-generation teacher.  After completing her bachelor’s degree from Oakwood College, she began her career as a 2nd grade teacher at Ramah Jr. Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.  Since that time, she has earned a Masters’ degree in Teaching Reading from Western Michigan University, and served as a classroom teacher for 18 years.  From there she went on to serve as principal/superintendent of Education, Shepherdess Leader, Family Life & Women’s Ministry leader, Site-Coordinator and Project Director of a summer Literacy Day Camp program called “Freedom School” over 4 summers for Central States Conference; Associate Superintendent for the Northern District schools in Potomac Conference, and most recently has served as the Assistant Director, Projects Coordinator for NAD Office of Education.  As of August 3, she is currently serving as the newly voted Associate Director, Ministerial Spouses Leader.

Desiree enjoys travelling, music, community outreach, cooking, reading, gardening, home decorating and remodeling, and spending time with family.  She has been married to Dr. G. Alexander Bryant, President of the North American Division for 37 years.  They have 3 adult sons, one daughter-in-law, and three beautiful granddaughters.

She has spent 18 years in the classroom and 11+ years in educational administration.  Eleven of those years she served as the ministerial spouse’s leader for Central States Conference and has assisted for the past 10 years with the North American Division ministerial spouses, where she now currently serves as the Leader.  At the conference level, for a short period of time, she also served as women’s ministries, and Family Life Director.  During this time, along with her passion and commitment to Adventist Education she developed a love and passion for supporting and ministering to ministerial spouses and families.  She is committed to evangelism and service through our ministerial families, churches, and through Adventist Christian Education, and firmly believes the words of Isaiah 54:13, a command with a promise. “And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

One of her favorite scriptures is Prov. 3:5, 6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
