2022 Virtual Summit on Abuse

How does this year’s Summit help the local church pastor lead more effectively in 2023?

This year’s Summit will provide the local church pastor and other leaders with resources for creating a culture of safety in the church and community. Presentations include best practices for prevention and response, how to deal with offenders appropriately, and testimonies from those who have been impacted by abuse in faith communities.

How does this year’s Summit help the local church address abuse in a more meaningful and long-lasting way?

This year’s presentations provide the nuts and bolts of dealing with the complex issues surrounding abuse. In addition to the presentations from experts, we will be sharing short videos that demonstrate how to—and how not to—address abuse appropriately.

What are some ineffective ways in which churches address abuse?

Unfortunately, most churches do not address abuse at all, which perpetuates the myth that it “does not happen here.” During the Summit, a series of short videos will demonstrate effective and ineffective ways churches address abuse.

What next steps do you hope leaders and churches will take after attending this year’s Summit?

We hope that leaders and members are equipped and empowered to take these messages to the church body and implement appropriate procedures. Our hope is that churches across the North American Division and beyond will make abuse prevention a priority.

Is there anything different about this year’s Summit that you’d like to make sure folks are aware of?

This year’s Summit will be closed captioned in Spanish and French.

How do folks register and is there a deadline?

No registration necessary. The November 13 event will be live on our Facebook page. Please follow enditnowNAD on FB and IG for more information.
