Planting Churches in Alaska's Arctic Circle

How do you plant sustainable churches in villages made up of a few dozen to a few hundred people? How do you get missionaries, resources, and supplies to tiny villages inaccessible by car? How do missionaries survive nine months of deep freeze followed by a couple months where blueberries, bears, and mosquitos spring to life?  How can the gospel be shared across, ethnic, cultural and tribal boundaries?

Those are some of the questions on Pastor Nick Clark’s mind as he visits three villages in various stages of planting. His journey is recorded by documentarian Pieter Damsteegt in this newly released documentary entitled Planting Churches in Alaska’s Arctic Circle, part of NAD Ministerial’s church documentary series.

Follow along with Nick and you’ll meet folks like Tony, the lanky young missionary wise beyond his years; Jim, the bush pilot who risks his life for the indigenous people of Alaska, and Jackie, the village chief who braves the Arctic waters in baptism.
