Redefining the Church’s Mission through Small Groups

In this eHuddle video from 2017, Pastor Laffit Cortes and Pastor Morris Thompson speak on the power of small groups to take a church to the next levels of evangelism. Pastor Cortes starts off by encouraging church leaders to redefine their definition of love to be more than just polite, but by personally investing in the other members of one’s church family. He lists the main objectives of small groups given to us by Ellen G. White, which are spiritual growth, Bible study, and evangelism. His mission is to make his church as outreach and evangelistic centric as possible and speaks on how small groups have made that possible. Pastor Thompson goes on to talk about the importance of small groups to him personally. Raised an atheist, he became a Christian at the age of 16 through a small group at the Sligo Adventist Church. He talks about how small groups are the foundation for planting multi site churches and how they are the impetus for friendships that ensure no member of the church ever feels alone.
