Back by popular demand, the North American Division (NAD) convention for pastors and their families will be held June 21-24, 2020 in Lexington Kentucky. The NAD Pastors convention precedes the General Conference Session which will be held 190 miles away in Indianapolis.

Soul Expanding

Ivan Williams, Director of NAD Ministerial, foresees that “this convention will be affirming, inspiring, invigorating and soul expanding, for pastors and their families. The convention fits squarely within NAD Ministerial’s goal of cultivating increasingly effective pastors.”

Something for Everyone

Williams shares that the convention is designed for the entire pastoral family: “The pastors’ convention will have specific programs for all members of the family including fresh creative age specific activities for children as well as gatherings for high school students.”

“Pastors and spouses will enjoy the plenary sessions together,” envisions Donna Jackson, Pastoral Spouses coordinator. “We also are planning for seminars specifically designed for the unique interests of pastoral spouses, both women and men.”

Brenda Billingy, Associate Director of NAD ministerial looks forward to providing a time for a gathering of the women clergy.  “I believe this convention will be the spiritual glue that binds us together, giving us the strength and wisdom to persevere, as well as the collective energy to creatively share/design effective ministry models.”

Expertise and Tools for Ministry

Esther Knott, Associate Director, says “Pastors may choose to engage in any of the dozens of breakout sessions lead by experts in a variety of ministry disciplines. These seminars will meet the requirements for continuing education credit.” She also anticipates that “The latest and most effective tools/technology for ministry will be featured in the exhibition hall.”

Shark Tank

“The top applications for creative evangelism proposals will be awarded funds at Evangelism Compassion Shark Tank,” according to Jose Cortes Jr., Associate Director.   “It is not too early to stoke the creative evangelistic fire.”

Rupp Convention Center, Lexington

Chariolett Johnson, NAD events planner, highlights some of the benefits of Lexington. She points out that “The Rupp Convention Center in downtown Lexington Kentucky is well equipped to host the 2020 Convention for Pastors and Their Families.  The stadium seating of the Rupp Arena will be an ideal venue for several grand worship and inspirational plenary sessions with engaging presenters.” She also notes “The center offers free parking and for those who prefer, free transportation will be available from Lexington hotels. Attendees will have many hotels with a range of rates to choose from.”  She points out that “About half of the pastors in the NAD are within a day’s drive to the convention and most major airlines serve Lexington or Louisville which is about 80 miles away.”

Start Saving Now

“Although there are some costs for the convention, these are manageable if we start saving right now” says Dave Gemmell, Associate Director of NAD Ministerial. He envisions “a five-way split between NAD, Unions, Conferences, Pastors, and their churches.” NAD administration has already voted a budget for the convention and he anticipates that if unions, conferences, churches and pastors put a third of the cost every year, there will be enough money in in the budget for every pastor to attend.
