The educational requirement for entrance into the ordained/commissioned ministry shall be the completion of the Master of Divinity program. College/University ministerial graduates shall attend the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary located at Andrews University to complete the MDIV program. The course at the Theological seminary, leading to a Master of Divinity degree, shall consist of seven semesters of study, approximately 25 percent of which shall consist of practical theology. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the graduate is eligible for an assignment as a ministerial intern, or for other direct appointments to the ministry.
While obtaining the Master of Divinity from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary is the prescribed pathway in NAD policy, there are other masters degrees offered by schools of higher learning within the NAD.
