Latoya Hazell-Wright


A native of St. Lucia, Latoya is an author, poet, songwriter, motivational speaker, mentor and entrepreneur. Learning from both the positive and negative experiences of her life she gained insight and wisdom that propelled her into action to help others.

She became an advocate for abuse victims and started a ministry on abuse awareness. She began to write devotionals and established a web site for abuse awareness and healing. Latoya has worked in the media industry as a radio personality, sound engineer, producer, and administrator for “WDJZ Radio" in Bridgeport, Connecticut and has managed communications and video/media departments for two churches. By assignment of a counselor Latoya discovered a hidden generational gift in photography and this led to her establishing her media/photography company called Yandia Designs covering from web design to photography to other graphic and media needs. While residing in Bridgeport CT, Latoya took every opportunity to serve the community from helping to plan disaster awareness initiatives, to helping to feed the homeless and serve in shelters for women and children. She has served in areas of youth training and development nationwide and has also served in the areas of Pathfinders, Camp Ministries, Children’s ministries, Community Service, and church leadership as an elder.  She worked at Blue Mountain Academy in Pennsylvania as an Assistant Living/Mentorship supervisor and Assistant Chaplain the school.

On the devastating heels of Hurricane Tomas she founded the non-profit organization H.E.L.E.N. (Helping Every Lucian Empowering a Nation) serving victims of disasters with needs and services. She personally went back to St. Lucia to deliver the donations collected for the victims. Latoya has also worked with iServe and Compassion, two youth focused service movements, and has partnered with government agencies in tireless efforts to help her community.

Latoya joined 4 Real Women Internation, Inc (4RWI, Inc.) in 2012 and has since used her talents to co-facilitate workshops on dealing withtrauma, crisis, women’s issues, divorce and separation, He God given gifts of being able to connect with people from all walks of life has enabled her to leaving long lasting impact wherever she goes. She is currently the International Chapters Director for 4RWI and has travelled locally and internationally speaking, facilitating, training and empowering women and families. She has also co-produced empowerment programs on 4RWI Radio.

Her writing includes articles published in Empowerment 4 Real Women Magazine. She had written devotionals for Praizeblogs, and is currently completing three projects including a children’s storybook, and a devotional.  Latoya is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and plans to use this achievement to better serve the communities which she is involved.

Latoya now serves as a team member in the role of Administrative Assistant to the Ministerial Department in the North America Division of Seventh-day Adventists located in Silver Springs, Maryland and is thrilled to be working with this amazing ministerial team She looks forward to serving and supporting our team members in the conferences and unions.

As a child of God she recognizes her talents and opportunities as a gift from above, and uses them to inspire others. Latoya currently resides in Maryland with her three amazing children Sierra, Victoria and Nigel II.
